About me

Sport and fitness have always been an integral part of my life. Growing up I was heavily involved in hockey, cricket and rugby union. I have been fortunate enough to play rep cricket and national hockey for my country, as well as being selected for the Defence Force hockey and Army cricket teams. My five years in the army also fostered my passion for fitness and helped me to push myself further than I ever thought I could go.

After moving on from the army, I worked as an electrician in the high voltage industry for 10 years and while I enjoyed the work, I didn’t really love what I did. Following a rough patch in my personal life, I refocussed my energy into my fitness and found that the gym, and looking after my health, was a huge stress reliever and allowed me to better deal with my situation. There is no better feeling of satisfaction than leaving the gym after a workout session knowing you have given 100% and achieved something.

Having first-hand experience with how health and fitness can help build a person back up and improve their outlook on life, I have a passion to draw on this experience to inspire others and help them to change their lives for the better.

I understand that every person is different and can tailor my sessions to all fitness levels. My desire is to help you achieve your goals by building your functional strength while having fun and achieving things you never thought possible. I will support, encourage and guide you at every step in your journey.

Why teenage girls need encouragement to keep fit

Teenage girls are less active than teenage boys as a result of various factors including peer pressure, lack of encouragement and lifestyle habits. This is a time when girls become more body conscious which is why they avoid physical activity incase they "look silly" or "aren't cool".

The truth is girls should remain active between primary and high school in order to boost their confidence physicaly and mentally and create positive behaviour patterns.
