Why carbs won't make you fat

The humble carbohydrate has been blamed many a time for being the cause of excess body fat. You will only gain weight when you eat more kilojoules (calories) than you burn off and these kilojoules can come from a mixture of fat, protein and carbohydrate.

If you need 7000kJ a day to maintain your weight, around half these kilojoules can come from carbohydrate, that’s 200g, without any affect on your weight.
