Which life do you choose?

On a far to regular basis, I hear either one of two things...people commenting on how I always look so fit and healthy (in a tone that implies I must be genetically gifted) OR people complaining about how busy they are, as they cuddle a cup of coffee that seems to be keeping them from falling asleep on their feet.

What I put to you today, is that I made a choice about 10 years ago, to be who I am today...and every single one of you also has that same choice available to you every single day.

There is no reason why you cannot look and feel great too.

Now, did you just have a little voice in your head say, Yeah...BUT....

About me

My name is Matt, I'm the Fitness Coordinator at Gensis Caulfield. I believe there is a strongest version of every human being. Its my mission to uncover it in myself, and to inspire you to discover yours through health and fitness.

Why take my advice?

Im straight up and I practise what i preach. I would not recommend something if i hadn't tried it myself, this is my passion. I have a background in boxing and strength training.

I want to support you in your goals and build a community, rather than have a ton of pictures of myself flexing in the mirror or acting like a meat-head tough guy full of ego and vanity. (A few are okay!)

We are on a mission!

YOU, me and everyone in our community will work tirelessly to spread the message of what REAL strength is and becoming a stronger person which will create a stronger world!

    Thank you for a great year - it only took a year and a half to finally see the weight drop! We got there just when I was about to give up!

  • Matt is very consistent and determined to help you in any way he can to achieve your goals. He goes above and beyond the training you do with him, he talks to you about nutrition, gives you advice and information.. He keeps in touch with you even when you are not training and makes you feel that he actually cares about each and everyone of his clients.. That personal touch is something money can't buy and I would highly recommend Matt to anyone that is hoping to achieve goals with weight, strength, weight loss, motivation or just to keep fit.

  • Like many women I’ve lead a busy life over the years concentrating on my family’s needs and my career. As I progressed in my career the more travel I did which lead to long hours, bad eating habits and no energy to exercise. I got caught up in a vicious cycle and brought these bad habits into my daily life.
    The weight started to pile on, but my career seemed to blossom which lead to a move to Melbourne. I thought new city, new lifestyle I will sign up with a personal trainer at a studio. Unfortunately I didn’t feel comfortable in this environment, great guy, but wasn’t the right fit then I had a death in the family which sent me back to comfort eating and being lazy.
    I continued to live in denial about my weight until work took some photos and I didn’t recognise myself. This was my wakeup call I decided I needed to make serious changes.
    I found Genesis online, searched the personal trainers and came across Matt’s profile. I liked his knowledge of the psychology behind weight gain. This resinated with me because I knew having a stressful day can lead to craving comfort food.
    In June 2014 I became Matt’s client. His approach of having sit down discussions in collaboration with my training worked well for me. He genuinely cares, and takes the time to help me address the barriers that have held me back.
    Matt’s plan for me was to ‘walk up to the starting line with relaxed nutrition’. My first goal was just to be consistent with my training which included boxing class, one PT session and two 30 minute walks per week. I then increased to two PT sessions a week. Matt is helping me to not only lose the kilo’s but to gain strength. Each session I am becoming stronger, feeling more powerful and confident! I am continually amazed with what my mind and body can achieve. After 3 months of training I have lost approximately 6kgs and feeling fantastic. I have a long journey ahead, but have no doubt that I will reach my goals with the encouragement and support that
