Water Works!

Water is a vital element of any person's training regime. Without an adequate water intake, results and overall performance can suffer dramatically.  As we exercise blood pumps through our bodies creating friction and raising our body's core temperature, with this our sweat glands are activated and in turn the body starts to perspire.

This is how our bodies combat the overheating process, however, the role of water in the body goes far beyond that of a defence mechanism for overheating.  It's feasible for an individual to lose 3-5kg of water (1kg =1litre of water) during an average circuit training class lasting 60-90 minutes.  If excessive fluid is lost, due to physical training particularly in the more humid climates the blood then becomes more viscous (thicker) and its ability to flow is significantly reduced.
